The Role:

Blending strategic oversight with operational delivery of HSE, Quality and Continuous Improvement, you’ll be responsible for shaping and embedding a culture of learning, adaptability, and high performance across MB Century.

Based at Wairakei and reporting to the CEO, you’ll lead a small, effective team to champion innovation and cultural change. You’ll support cross-functional collaboration, lead the development of robust systems, and prioritise engagement that continuously drives safer, higher-quality, and more effective outcomes.

You’ll also be:

• Working across the business to influence the Senior Leadership Team, Business Units leads, and individuals, by providing proactive coaching and partnering
• Establishing HSE and Quality reporting that creates focus and change, ease of monitoring, trend identification, and demonstrates step change improvements.
• Driving effective event reporting, manage and guide investigations/ lessons learnt, and drive auditing activities.
• Designing and executing continuous improvement / innovation frameworks and support initiatives in the business to enhance compliance, drive efficiencies and cost effectiveness.

About You:

Having held senior Quality, Safety or Continuous Improvement leadership roles in regulated industries you’ll demonstrate a passion for empowering people to thrive at work and improving how work is done. Offering the ability to connect HSE, quality, and continuous improvement / innovation through a human lens you’ll have strong stakeholder engagement, an influential communication style and workshop facilitation skills.

You are not one to be desk-bound - we are an operational worksite with our people regularly out on client sites in high-risk environments. To make an impact, you and your team will be visible throughout the business driving, implementing and reviewing QHSE procedures in action. Your previous operational experience in similar industries will allow you to know what good looks like, earn the respect needed to influence change and provide a level of comfort that our people and operations are in safe hands.

You’ll also bring:

• Demonstrated success leading large-scale technical, cultural and business change initiatives
• Systems-thinking and strategic foresight of both Quality and HSE in a high risk and critical outcome environment
• Curiosity, integrity, and the courage to challenge the status quo.
• A proven track record of leading through influence, not control.
• Tertiary qualified
